NILES – The Brandywine varsity softball team will host the Matt Kurtis Memorial Softball Tournament on Saturday at Brandywine High School.
The Lady Bobcats will take on Dowagiac at 10 a.m.
Niles and Climax-Scott will play at 11:30 a.m.
The consolation game will be played at 1 p.m. and the finals at 2:30 p.m.
Baseball/Softball pairings
Top-ranked Niles and arch rival Lakeshore will kick off the Division 2 Michigan High School Athletic Association District Softball Tournament at Edwardsburg on May 27.
The Lady Vikings and Lady Lancers will play a pre-district contest at Edwardsburg High School on Tuesday, May 27 at 4:30 p.m.
The host Lady Eddies, Dowagiac and St. Joseph all drew first round byes.
Dowagiac and St. Joseph will meet in the first semifinal on Saturday, May 31, while the winner of the Niles-Lakeshore contest will advance to the second semifinal against Edwardsburg.
Lakeshore and Niles will square off in baseball as well on May 27 at 4:30 p.m.
The winner of the pre-district game will take on Edwardsburg in the first semifinal on May 31 at 10 a.m.
Soccer
Niles will travel to Benton Harbor on Tuesday to take on the Tigers at 5 p.m.
Brandywine will face Bridgman at River Valley on Tuesday, while Buchanan heads to Dowagiac for a first round match.
