Brandywine takes pair from Bridgman

BRIDGMAN – The Brandywine varsity softball team picked up a pair of easy Lakeland Conference victories on Wednesday.
The No. 6 ranked Lady Bobcats won the first game 11-0 in five innings and then took the nightcap 16-0 in four innings.
Brandywine scored nine of its 11 runs in the first two frames against the Lady Bees.
The Lady Bobcats had eight hits in the contest, including a double and a triple by Delaina Schroeder. Schroeder drove in a pair of runs.
Brooke Coshow added a single and a double, while Becky Modlin also had a double.
Kendra Zache tossed a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and no walks.
In the second game, an 11-run fourth inning ended the game early.
Brandywine (20-12) had nine hits in the second contest, including a single, double and RBI from Coshow.
Zache pitched the first three innings to improve to 18-11 on the season. She struck out six, did not allow a hit, nor did she walk a batter.
Kristina Ford pitched the fourth inning, striking out one.
