NILES – The Niles freshmen baseball team dropped a 10-7 decision to South Bend (Ind.) Riley on Tuesday at Champs Field.
The Vikings got hits from Tyler Mead, Robbie Legus, Matt Dodge and Colin Burandt.
Josh Brawley played well defensively according to coach Ryan Bigelow.
"Tyler Mead injured his hand catching on a foul ball and Robbie Legus did a good job stepping in to cover for him," Bigelow said.
Cody Taggart and Burandt split pitching duties for the Vikings, who wrap up their season on Friday against Comstock.
