Margaret ‘Maggie’ Gillette / 1932-2008

Margaret "Maggie" Gillette, 75, of Portage Road, Niles, died at 4 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at her home, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, at First Baptist Church, Niles, with the Rev. Jim Wing, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.
Friends may call at the church beginning at 10 a.m.
She was born on July 6, 1932, in Somerset Center, to William Thomas Ossmer and Ethel Lucille Fitch Ossmer.
She lad lived most of her life in Niles and graduated from Niles High School.
She was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Niles, where she participated in many positions and activities including Deaconess, choir, Sunday School teacher and arranging the flowers for the sanctuary.
On Feb. 9, 1952, at First Baptist Church in Niles, she married Jim C. Gillette, who survives.
Additional surviving family includes a daughter, Sally (David) Jones of Antwerp. Ohio; a son, Thomas Gillette of Gurnee, Ill.; four grandchildren, Sara Gillette, Peter Gillette, Andrew Jones and Charles Gillette; two great-grandchildren and a sister, Nancy "Roxanne" Anton of Niles.
She was preceded in death by two sister, Barbara Taylor and Sarah A. "Sally" Remus and a brother, David Ossmer.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, or In House Hospice.
Arrangements were by Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles.
