CASSOPOLIS – Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that on Saturday, May 17, at 12:48 a.m., his office investigated a single motor vehicle, personal-injury accident, on U.S. 12 near Starbrick Street in Mason Township.
Ricky M. Linde, 21, of Edwardsburg, was eastbound on U.S. 12 when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed the center line, ran off the roadway and struck a tree.
Porter ambulance assisted Linde with his injuries, but he refused to be transported to the hospital.
Safety belts were used and it appears that alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
This incident remains under investigation.
