BENTON HARBOR – The Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan is doing spring cleaning and needs your help. Floors are mopped at least once a day and more often as necessary. Non-pine scented floor cleaner is needed for this purpose and is our May item of the month. Donations can be dropped of at the Humane Society at 641 S. Crystal Ave. Benton Harbor or in donation bins at Pet Supplies Plus on Mall Dr. in Benton Harbor, PawMart Pet Center on Cleveland Ave. in St. Joseph.
With Spring comes the arrival of "Kitten Season." The Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan has more than 25 kittens under four months of age that are or will soon be looking for good homes. Since cats often do well when they have a companion to play with they are offering the "Buddy Special" for the months of May and June. You can adopt two cats or kittens for the price of one. Cat/kitten adoption fees are $35. For unaltered cats and kittens there is a $25 refundable spay/neuter deposit required per animal.
