Niles soccer already owned win over St. Joseph

NILES – The Nationals knocked off the Cubs 9-5 in a Niles F.O.P. contest.
Helping the Nationals to the victory were JeRod Glenn, Steven Justus and Austin Platz.
In other action, The Tigers beat the Royals.
Top hitters for the Royals were Damien Novack, while the Tigers were led by brother and sister tandem Damian Downham and Taylor Krizinski.
Tayton Stevens went 3-for-3 in the victory.
The Tigers also defeated the Mets, who got a home run from James Kirkdoll.
Darcell Cross had two hits for the Mets.
The Tigers were led by Cody Glick, Stevens and Brenton Harrell, who was 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
In the Major Division, the Yankees defeated the Dowagiac White Sox 12-2.
The Yankees were led by Karli Covyeou, with a double and Warren Smith with two singles.
Austin Lintz picked up the victory.
In Junior Division action in the Greater Niles Little League at Thomas Stadium, the Giants edged the Astros 10-9.
Casey Burandt was the winning pitcher as he struck out a pair in improving to 2-0 on the season. Tyler Bybee took the loss for the Astros.
Alec Landon had a double, two singles and four RBIs for the Giants (3-1), while Zach Fillwock doubled, singled and drove in three runs.
The Giants also got a single and a double from David Tharp, while Randy Wagner added a single. Ryan Clutter scored the game-winning run.
The Astros were led offensively by Jay Williams and Brad Millin, both of whom doubled and drove in two runs.
Shawn Dudka doubled and drove in a run, while Sam Clark singled and collected an RBI. Zach Clinginpeel added a single.
