JV baseball team now 22-2 on the season

NILES – The Niles junior varsity baseball team improved to 22-2 with a sweep of visiting Bridgman at Thomas Stadium on Thursday.
The Vikings won the first game 5-2 and then took the second contest 7-1.
In the opening game, David Garner was 2-for-2 with a home run and a double. The round-tripper was the fifth of the season for Garner.
Niles also got a pair of doubles from Ricky Briand, while Aaron Davis, Cameron Sly, Javier Smith and Brent Gillispie also had hits.
Kyle Ballge tossed a four-hitter to earn his fourth victory of the season.
Briand earned his fourth win of the season in the second game, as he allowed one run on two hits.
Aaron Brady was 2-for-2 with a double to pace the Vikings offensively. Garner was 2-for-3 with his sixth home run, while Rashad Harris tripled. Sly, Mitch Peterek and Nate Clinginpeel also had hits.
Niles will compete in the Brandywine Invitational on Saturday at Thomas Stadium.
