CASSOPOLIS – The 13th annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life starts today, May 16, at 3 p.m. at the Cass County Fairgrounds, 590 O'Keefe St., Cassopolis and runs through the night until 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17.
More than just a fundraising event, the 24-hour Relay offers the community a way to celebrate cancer survivorship, remember loved ones lost and fight back against a disease that takes too much from too many.
Cancer survivors decked out in purple take a victory lap around the track at 6 p.m.
The luminaria ceremony takes place at 10 tonight.
There is a new fight back ceremony at 7:30, with participants promising to save one life from cancer before next year's event.
