Shanda Elaine Farmer and David Bell Waterhouse are pleased to announce their engagement.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Margaret Farmer and Tom Mathews of Niles, and Jim and Tammy Farmer of Cassopolis.
She earned a bachelor's degree at Indiana University – South Bend and a master's from Grand Valley State University. She works as a teacher for children with special needs at Blossomland Learning Center in Berrien Springs.
The prospective groom is the son of Bruce and Janey Waterhouse of Niles. He is a graduate of University of Michigan and earned a master's from Eastern Michigan University. He is a program director at the Ginsberg Center for Community Service and Learning at the University of Michigan.
