CASSOPOLIS – Studies show that pets help people to live longer. To celebrate this bond, Cass County Council on Aging brings the third annual Strut Your Mutt to its walking trail Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Strut Your Mutt is an event that supports the Cass County Animal Shelter while encouraging good health for dogs and their human friends.
Participants are asked to bring at least one pet care item as a registration fee. All items will be donated to the Cass County Animal Shelter.
Suggested donations include: dry pet food, cat litter, treats, toys, grooming supplies, cat pads, paper towels, dish soap or bleach.
Services and merchants that will be on hand include Cass County Animal Shelter, obedience training, dog shows, toenail clipping, grooming, pet photos, pet food vendors, Bergman Veterinary Clinic, canine therapy and agility demonstrations.
The canine competition will award prizes for the most beautiful, best dressed and most talented dogs of the day. Judging will be at 11:30 p.m.
All animals must be on a leash, have current vaccinations and a license.
