ST. JOSEPH – This week, Lakeland HealthCare joins healthcare organizations across the country in honoring National Hospital Week.
This event is both an annual celebration of the contributions of healthcare professionals and an opportunity to raise public awareness that hospitals are positive, vital places that promote health and well-being.
"Lakeland is pleased to honor the contributions of all of our associates, volunteers, and physicians during this special week," said Joe Wasserman, president and CEO of Lakeland HealthCare.
"Each and every person at Lakeland makes a difference through their care for our patients, and for our community."
As Berrien County's largest employer, Lakeland employs 3,100 people and counts another 800 volunteers and 300 physicians as part of the organization.
These team members help patients in clinical and support roles at locations throughout Southwest Michigan, including at three hospitals, three nursing homes, nine homecare locations, plus clinics, office buildings, and medical centers.
As part of a thank-you, Lakeland will provide lunch to associates, physicians, and volunteers during National Hospital Week.
Today, National Hospital Week is the nation's largest healthcare celebration.
