At what point will we take action on gas prices

As the price of gas creeps ever so closer to $4 for a gallon of regular, it is interesting to see that gas stations are still filled with cars all day long.
We wonder just what price gas will have to reach before American's change its driving habits.
Most experts believe it is $4 a gallon, but there seems to be no trend to support those beliefs.
Americans are addicts when it comes to gas consumption. They would rather go without basic necessities than to give up their cars.
Because of that fact, oil companies can continue to jack up the price and pull in record profits.
While all this goes on, our government seems perfectly content to sit back and watch.
No one seems to have a credible plan to curb the soaring gas prices.
As the Democratic and Republican primaries draw near, perhaps it's time for all of us to send a message to those candidates.
They need to be bombarded with calls, e-mails and letters demanding that they do something about the rising price of not only gas, but also other items.
It's time we put our foot down on something other than the gas pedal.
Take a stand. Send your favorite candidate a message and demand that they take care of the average Joe instead of the fat cats in the oil industry.
But don't expect them to do all the work for us. Take a stand yourself and cut back on gas consumption.
It's all about supply and demand. If we demand less, the oil companies won't be able to rake in all that money and the price of gas would eventually have to come down.
It's at least worth a try!
