Niles junior varsity baseball team gets back on track with sweep of Edwardsburg

NILES – The Niles junior varsity baseball team got back on the winning track Thursday as it swept visiting Edwardsburg at Thomas Stadium.
Kyle Ballge picked up his first win on the mound in the first game for Niles.
The Vikings won the first game 11-1 and then took the nightcap 12-2.
Niles (18-2) had 10 hits in the game including doubles by David Garner, Cameron Sly, Briand and Javier Smith.
In the second game, Briand tossed a two-hitter in the opening to earn his third win of the season.
Briand also was 3-for-3 at the plate with a double.
Niles also got a single and a double from Garner and Sly. Also picking up hits were Tommy Flynn, Justin Frederick and Brent Gillispie.
Niles will be back on the diamond on Tuesday as they travel to Stevensville to take on Lakeshore.
