BERRIEN SPRINGS – The lack of depth in pitching proved to be the demise of the Buchanan varsity baseball team Thursday afternoon as Berrien Spring swept the Bucks 8-3 and 13-3.
Buchanan opened the action in game one with three runs in the first inning but couldn't push another runner across the plate despite out hitting the Shamrocks 7-6. Bryan Kuntz was tagged with the loss.
In the night cap David Sokolowski took the mound and was knocked out of the game in the second inning as the Shamrocks took a 10-0 lead after two innings of play.
Buchanan will host their own tournament on Saturday as they play in the Buck Classic II.
