NILES – The Niles varsity soccer team gained some revenge on Wednesday night as it defeated host Sturgis in a Big 16 Conference crossover match.
The Lady Trojans had defeated the Lady Vikings 3-1 last Friday night at Niles High School.
Allison Ott scored in the final minute to lift Niles to victory.
Sturgis outshot Niles 22-13 in the match. Lady Vikings' keeper Autumn Lucero was credited with 19 saves.
"Autumn Lucero had an outstanding game as keeper, she made 19 saves on the night," Niles first-year coach Jo Schau said. "The entire team put together a solid effort the entire game to bring home the victory."
In junior varsity action on Wednesday, the Lady Trojans edged the Lady Vikings, 2-1.
Lindsey Fulk scored the goal for Niles.
