Lady Bobcats take two in softball action

COLOMA – The Brandywine varsity softball team swept a Lakeland Conference doubleheader from host Coloma on Tuesday.
The Lady Bobcats (14-8, 8-2 Lakeland) defeated the Lady Comets 5-1 in the first game and then completed the sweep with a 7-1 win in the second contest.
Brandywine's Kendra Zache was the winning pitcher in both games as she improved to 12-7 on the season.
Zache struck out 13 in the first game and then six in the second contest.
The Lady Bobcats finished with 10 hits in the opener, led by Zache with a single and a triple. Delaina Schroeder added a pair of singles and a double.
In the second game, Brandywine finished with 11 hits.
Schroeder again doubled, while Zache and Allie Harris both had three hits. Harris drove in a pair of runs, while Schroeder was also credited with an RBI.
