Brandywine gets split with Shamrocks, finally!

NILES – It took a while, but the Brandywine varsity baseball team split with defending Lakeland Conference champion Berrien Springs on Monday afternoon.
In a game that was halted due to darkness back on April 29, the Bobcats defeated the Shamrocks 9-5 to earn a split of its league doubleheader.
Berrien Springs (13-3, 6-2 Lakeland) had defeated No. 1 ranked Brandywine (16-2, 7-1 Lakeland) 8-5 in the first game back in April.
The Bobcats scored four runs in the first and sixth innings and a run in the fourth to account for its scoring.
The Shamrocks scored one in the third and four in the fourth.
Jesse McCombs had three of Brandywine's 13 hits, including a double and two RBIs.
