Vera Lynn Tibbs, 52, of Higgins Street, Niles, died at 11:30 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2008, at her daughter's home in Niles, unexpectedly, but of natural causes.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, with the Rev. Janet Van Lear of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born on May 20, 1955, in Niles, to Rodger Tibbs and Gladys Alonso. She was a lifetime resident of Niles.
She attended First Presbyterian Church, Niles and was a member of the Democratic Club, South Bend, Ind.
Tibbs worked as a self-employed wallpaper hanger and interior painter. She enjoyed house plants and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving family includes a daughter, Miki Lynn Wagley of Niles; a son, Michael Allen Wagley Jr. of Niles; granddaughters, Anneke and Allison Wagley and Ashley Simpson; a grandson, Caiden Wagley; a great-grandson, Brian Aldrich; her parents, Rodger and Gladys Tibbs of Niles; brothers, Jerry and Keith Tibbs of Niles and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
