NILES – The Niles varsity tennis team won its own invitational tournament on Saturday.
The Lady Vikings scored 12 points to defeat South Bend (Ind.) Washington, which finished with eight points. South Bend Adams finished third with seven points and South Bend Clay fourth with three points.
The format for the tournament consisted of No. 1 singles and four doubles flights..
Niles' Rachel Horn took first place in No. 1 singles, while Niles won four doubles flights and took a second place in a fifth flight.
Winning doubles titles were Lena Cramer and April Lee, Sara Stenstrom and Ali Landgraf, Megen Hein, Lauren Girvin and Nichole Martin, along with Jessica Bartocci and Sarah Rouse.
Finishing second for the Lady Vikings was the team of Haley Davis and Chelsea Paturalski.
Niles will host a SMAC crossover today at 4:30 p.m.
