Shamrocks hold off Niles baseball team, 3-2

BERRIEN SPRINGS – The Niles varsity baseball team dropped a 3-2 decision to host Berrien Springs on Monday in a non-conference contest.
The Shamrocks (9-2) scored two runs in the third and one in the fourth to account for its total.
The Vikings (10-3) grabbed a 1-0 lead after one inning and scored its final run in the sixth.
Berrien Springs outhit Niles 8-7 in the contest.
Cody Saroni, Matt Baker and Chris Haas all had doubles for the Shamrocks.
Andrew Brawley and Kevin Gross both doubled to lead the Vikings offensively.
Greg Whitehead took the win for Berrien Springs.
Billy Siderits took the loss for the Vikings. Nick Hartman came on in relief in the fifth inning.
Niles travels to St. Joseph today for a doubleheader.
