Niles freshmen pick up first two victories

NILES – The Niles freshman baseball team won its first two games of the season on Friday.
The Vikings (2-7) swept a doubleheader from visiting Coldwater at Champs Field.
Niles took the opening game 13-0, while in the nightcap, the Vikings to a 6-3 victory.
Cody Taggart tossed a no-hitter in the first game. Riley Robson, Justin Hughes and Tyler Fisher were the top hitters.
Dustin Purcell took the victory in the second game.
Zach Holt hit a home run for the Vikings. Other top hitters were Hughes and Nick Lucero.
Niles will host Penn today at 4 p.m. at Champs Field.
