Jeanette Louise Sauve, 82, of Port Richey, Fla., died at her daughter's home on Monday, April 7, 2008, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.
A memorial service will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel on Monday, May 12, at 11 o'clock in the morning. She will be interred at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens next to her son, Harold Dean.
She was born the only child to the late Bert and Lois (Hartman) Melser in Dowagiac, on May 25, 1925.
After graduating from high school, she went on to work for Simplicity Pattern Co. In June of 1964, she wed the love of her life, Harold Sauve, at a ceremony in Niles.
She loved to read; she had loads of books at her house, almost enough to make a complete library. When she was younger, Jeanette and Harold spent much of their time bowling, they were so good that they received several trophies, even placing first overall for one season. She was always busy, when she wasn't reading or bowling, she was spending time with her family or crocheting.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sons, James Runnels in 1992 and Harold Dean Sauve in 2006.
Surviving family includes her husband of 43 years, Harold; daughters, Gayle Chapman of Port Richey, Fla. and Marsha (Steve) Kelley of Niles; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Condolences, photos and memories may be left for the family at www.BrownFuneralHomeNiles.com.
