Niles baseball team now 8-2 after win over Sturgis

STURGIS – The Niles varsity baseball team improved to 8-2 on the year with a 3-2 win over Sturgis on Monday in non-conference play.
The Vikings' Mikie Simpson pitched and hit Niles to the win over the Trojans.
Simpson was 4-for-4 with a double, while he also tossed a two-hitter with 14 strikeouts.
Niles, which finished with 10 hits, also got a triple from Zach Bloss and a doble from Anthony Gladden. Alec Taylor was 2-for-2.
Marcus Gauthier had a double for the Trojans.
