Brandywine softball goes 1-2 at Portage Central

PORTAGE – The Brandywine varsity softball team went 1-2 at the Portage Central Invitational on Saturday.
The Lady Bobcats lost a heartbreaking 8-7 decision to Portage Northern in eight innings, fell to Kalamazoo Christian 3-0 and defeated Grandville 4-2.
Brandywine is now 6-5 on the season.
Kendra Zache struck out 17 against the Lady Huskies but wound up on the wrong end of the decision.
She allowed seven hits, while the Lady Bobcats committed four errors in the contest.
Brandywine finished with six hits, led by Brooke Coshow with a single and a double.
Zache also took the loss in the Kalamazoo Christian contest despite allowing just three hits. The Lady Bocats committed five errors against the Lady Comets and had just a pair of hits.
Kristina Ford squared her record at 1-1 as she earned the victory against Grandville. Ford scattered six hits.
The Lady Bobcats rallied from a 2-1 deficit in the fourth inning as Zache cracked a three-run home run. She also had a single.
