To the editor:
Have you ever walked in their shoes?
Have you ever lost your job, your house, your insurance and your retirement fund all at once?
This is what Niles Community Schools have done to their bus drivers.
We the American taxpayers no longer have a say about where or how our tax dollars are spent.
The decision to outsource the busing in Niles was not a decision made by the tax payers in Niles.
It was made by a few people that do not have to worry about how they were going to pay their bills.
As a tax payer I would be asking myself these questions.
Why was I not informed about the outsourcing?
Where is this extra money really going?
Prove to me that 80 percent of the drivers from another district stayed when they outsourced, also were you informed that Student First Inc. is owned by a foreign company?
Things willl change. I personally know some drivers from another school that has outsourced their busing. Eighty percent of their drivers either retired or are driving for other districts.
