NILES – Craig Riley, the 1971 Niles High School graduate stabbed earlier this week, has been upgraded from critical to serious at Legacy Emanuel Hospital's Burn Center, according to his cousin, Kelly Liggett Maxwell.
Craig will remain in a medically-induced coma for at least 10 more days, but the prayers already seem to be working.
"His condition is no longer life threatening." Letters of encouragement and cards are welcome and would help Craig pull through, Maxwell added.
"I think when he wakes up from the coma, if he had a big bag full of mail from his friends in Niles, he would love it," Maxwell said.
