Junior, Senior leagues registration today
NILES – The Greater Niles Baseball League will hold its registration for the 2008 season today.
Registration for the Junior League (13-14) and Senior League (15-16) will be held at the Niles Inn &Conference Center, 930 S. 11th St. from 2-4 p.m.
Cost is $80 per child or $110 per family. A $10 late fee will be charged after March 1.
Tryouts for the Junior League will be held March 15 at Ring Lardner Middle School, 801 N. 17th St.
Tryouts will be conducted from 10 a.m. until noon.
NBGSA holding next registration on Sunday
NILES – The Niles Brandywine Girls' Softball Association is currently holding registration for the 2008 softball season.
Open registration will take place on March 2, from 1-3 p.m. at the Niles Township Hall located on Bell Road.
Interested girls ages 5-17 as of Jan. 1 are welcome.
Please bring a photocopy of player's birth certificate to keep on file (copier will not be available). For more information call Deb Carlson at 683-0786.
Meet the Coaches night scheduled for March 4
NILES – The Niles Athletic Department will be holding its Spring Meet the Coaches night on Wednesday, March 4.
The meeting is manditory for anyone interested in participating in a spring sport.
Both the athlete and a parent/gardian must attend. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the auditorium.
Indiana Nightmare to hold tryouts this month
ELKHART, Ind. – The Indiana Nightmare are set to play in Elkhart for the 2008 season.
The Indiana Nightmare are a member of The Indoor Football Association.
Larry Macon, the league founder, has finalized an agreement to play at Elkhart's Sports Center.
"We were supposed to play a couple of exhibition games in Elkhart last year," Macon stated, "but we had to make a couple of changes with teams and we wanted to get things right before starting any games."
The league for 2008 will consist of six teams: Washington (PA) Steam, Indiana (PA) Wolverines, Lansing Steelkatz, Lynwood (Ill.) Knights, Albert Lea (MN) Chill and the Nightmare.
The season will kickoff April 19 with the Lansing Steelkatz coming to Elkhart to take on the Nightmare.
The season will consist of eight games with each team having four homes games and four away games. For the 2008 tickets for all TIFA games will only be $5.00 per ticket.
The Nightmare will have a tryout on March 15 or 16 for all perspective players.

Tickets are on sale now at Wings Stadium Box Office and Ticketmaster.com. Advanced tickets start at $22 and VIP tables of 10 starts at $40 per seat. Tickets will be $5 more the day of event.
