Janelle Lynn Swisher of Holland married Jared Matthew Sievert of Dowagiac at Grandville United Methodist Church on Aug. 11, 2007.
The bride is the daughter of Terry and Sherrie Swisher of Dowagiac.
She graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 2001 and from Hope College in 2005. She is a resource specialist for the Christian Learning Center at Zeeland Christian School.
The groom, son of Mike and Gail Sievert of Dowagiac, also graduated from DUHS in 2001. He served in the U.S. Army from 2001 to 2005. He is a student at Grand Valley State University.
The Rev. R. Paul Doherty, former pastor of First United Methodist Church in Dowagiac, performed their wedding.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
Matron of honor was Emily Lauritzen of Holland.
Bridesmaids included Mari Stuppy of Holland, Melissa Blush of High Point, N.C., Kortney Marlatt of Ilwaco, Wash., and Elizabeth Estep of Holland.
Cassidy Schuttinga of Birmingham, Ala., was flower girl.
Ring bearer was Zachary Friske of Dowagiac.
Randy Rusthoven of Whiting, Ind., provided music for the ceremony.
The groom's father, Mike Sievert of Dowagiac, was best man.
Groomsmen included Brent Seifferlein of Dowagiac, Mike Friske of Dowagiac, Nathan Bulmon of Nashville, Tenn., Brent Swisher of Dowagiac and Shawn Swisher of Dowagiac.
Their reception took place at Noto's in Grand Rapids with music by DJ Jeremy Truitt of Sound Productions.
Following a honeymoon to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the Sieverts are making their home in Holland.
