Two local men arraigned

CASSOPOLIS – On Dec. 29 at 8 a.m., deputies from the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of burglaries of four houses that occurred on Curran Drive and Maple Island Road in Silver Creek Township, north of Dowagiac.
Upon investigating the crime, deputies were able to track the suspects in the snow to a residence on Polk Road approximately three miles from the burglary.
Deputies uncovered evidence at that location that then led to the arrest of the two occupants of the residence for the burglaries.
Arrested and lodged at the Cass County Jail were:
Kane Benson, 19, of Dowagiac.
Trevor Wallace, 18, also of Dowagiac.
Both were arraigned on Wednesday, Jan. 2, in Fourth District Court, Cassopolis, on home invasion charges.
Benson's bond was set at $75,000 for this offense, as well as an additional $35,000 for a prior burglary charge.
Wallace's bond was set at $50,000, as well as $15,000 for a prior burglary charge.
