With a new year rapidly approaching, it is time to reflect on what has happened over the previous 12 months and begin preparing for 2008.
For many, that means making a New Year's resolution.
Most people make resolutions, but break them within a matter of days or weeks.
Others hang on for a while, but most do not make it through the entire year.
Here are some of the top resolutions that people make:
1. Lose weight
2. Quit smoking
3. Spend more time with our families
4. Get out and enjoy life to its fullest
5. Stop drinking
6. Gain control of personal debt
7. Get organized
8. Be more helpful to those in need
9. Learn something new
10. Reduce stress
Those are all admirable resolutions and there are dozens more than people make each year, but few follow through on.
Don't give up. Make a resolution and give it your best shot when it comes to keeping it.
If you don't keep it, make a new one. It's good to have personal goals.
So before midnight on Dec. 31, make a New Year's resolution and then go for it.
