NILES – Floyd, a Mexican Red Headed Amazon Parrot, was stolen from Ewert's Pets between noon and 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22.
According to George Blake of Ewert's, Floyd was preparing to go to his new home before he was stolen.
"Christmas was ruined for the family that wanted to buy him," Blake said.
Floyd can whistle the Andy Griffith theme song and he also talks, saying phrases like "give me a kiss," which he follows by making a kissing sound. He also says hi and hello.
There is a reward for the safe return of Floyd and conviction of the thieves. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call George at Ewert's at 683-0742.
