NILES – The Niles junior varsity boys' basketball team was edged by Marshall 49-41 Tuesday night.
The Vikings trailed 26-23 at halftime, but forced a 34-all tie heading into the final quarter.
The Red Hawks outscored Niles 15-7 in the final eighth minutes to pull out the victory.
"We came out flat and were not ready to play," Niles coach Ivery Cross said. "We got great play out of Shawn Holland and Chris Schuck.
Mitchell Peterek led the Vikings with 11 points. Schuck finished with seven points and Aaron Davis six points.
