Edwardsburg topples Berrien Springs; Cass knocks off Bridgman Lady Bees

BERRIEN SPRINGS – A big first half lifted the Edwardsburg girls' varsity basketball team to a 43-28 Lakeland Conference victory over Berrien Springs Tuesday night.
The Lady Eddies (2-2, 1-2 Lakeland) outscored Berrien Springs 24-9 in the first half and then cruised home with the victory.
Berrien Springs outscored Edwardsburg 14-10 in the third quarter, but both teams ended up netting 19 points each in the final 16 minutes of play.
Steffanie Streb led the Lady Eddies with 11 points, while Lindsay Harroff and Stephanie Koontz finished with 10 and nine points respectively.
Rachel Zahrn led Berrien Springs with nine points, all on 3-pointers. Kelsey Shembarger added six points.
Edwardsburg is back in action on Friday, when it travels to Bridgman for another league contest.
Edwardsburg was edged in junior varsity action Tuesday night by the Lady Shamrocks, 26-24.

BRIDGMAN – Sisters Tiffany and Taira Williams combined for 26 points to lead the Cassopolis girls' varsity basketball team past host Bridgman Tuesday night in Lakeland Conference action.
Tiffany Williams netted 14, while twin sister Taira added 12 points for the Lady Rangers, who won their second straight contest.
Cassopolis also got nine points from Damonica Kelly and eight points from Kenyah House.
Sarah Svoboda's nine points led Bridgman. Ariel Piotter added eight.
The Lady Rangers return to action Friday night when they travel to Coloma for another Lakeland Conference clash.
