Cookie Exchange
Monday, Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. at the senior center. Come to share and sample everyone's favorite homemade recipes. There are just a few rules:
1. Homemade cookies only.
2. Bring an empty container to carry cookies home.
3. You will take home the same number of cookies you brought.
4. Everyone is invited – daughters, sons, friends and neighbors.
5. Bring recipes, if you don't mind sharing.
6. Arrive by 12:45.
New Year's Eve Party
Monday, Dec. 31 at 5 p.m. Join in the fun as we await the arrival of 2008. Please bring a white elephant prize for bingo and a snack (in a serving container) to share.
Board Meeting
The Niles Senior Center's next board meeting will be on Monday, Dec. 17 at 10 a.m.
New Classes
Conversational Spanish – Mondays at 12:30 p.m. Have fun learning to speak and understand basic conversational Spanish. All you need is to bring a notebook! Please sign up in advance.
Working with Pastels
Coming in January.
Blood Pressure Check
Tuesday, Dec. 18 from 1-2 p.m.
Just For Fun Classes
Scrapbooking will begin at 1 p.m. through 3:30 p.m. on Mondays and is available for beginners and experienced scrappers. The Center provides magazines, cutters, punches, border pencils, light box, chalks, colored pens and pencils, stencils, embosser, etc. for you to use. Bring your own scissors and adhesive.
Ceramics Classes are on second and fourth Tuesdays at 9 a.m. If you are new to ceramics or have done it before, you'll enjoy this class. The center furnishes supplies and provides pieces to purchase to work on.
Chat and Stitch at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays. Come and be part of the friendly group. Bring whatever you are working on or get some new ideas. Help is available with tatting and crocheting.
Book Club meets at 10 a.m. the first Thursday of each month. If you like to read, discover books you can't find and enjoy lively and thought provoking conversations, laughter and friendship, this is the place for you!
Tatting class is held on Fridays at 2 p.m., and taught by Judy, who is very patient and will show you how to tat.
BINGO! Thursdays at 1 p.m.
Niles Senior Woodcarvers gather on Thursdays between 5 and 8 p.m. Bring your tools and wood. Teachers are to attend for help, kits are available as well. Contact Pat at (269) 684-5924 for further information. You must be 16 years old or older to attend.
Line Dancing Beginners meet Mondays at 10:30. And non-beginners meet Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
Watercolor Painting Classes are on hiatus until February.
Sign Language Fridays at 10 a.m.: This beginning class, Marcie Nunemaker will teach you the basics of signing.
The Mitten Tree
Please help us decorate the Mitten Tree through Dec. 21. The mittens, gloves, hats and scarves you donate will be given to the Salvation Army. Both handmade and purchased items are welcome!
Open Scrapbooking &Card-Crop
At the Center on Friday, Dec. 14 from 4 until 10 p.m.(Cost: $2): Lunch will be served at noon with snacks and drinks available all day! Please register at the Center or by calling Cynthia Shank at 684-7409.
Afternoon of Games
Saturday, Dec. 15 at 12:30 – Bring your favorite games, and get ready to have fun! Please sign up in advance. A light lunch will be available.
