NILES – The Niles varsity wrestling team is ranked No. 7 in Division 2 according to the first state rankings released on Monday.
The Vikings are two spots better than arch rival Lakeshore, which is rated No. 9
Mason is the top ranked team in Division 2. Defending Division 2 champion Allegan is ranked No. 8.
Niles defeated Allegan in a dual meet last week.
In Division 1, Rockford is the top-ranked team, while in Division 3 it is Dundee and Division 4 it is Hesperia, which will be at the Eau Claire Invitational on Saturday along with Niles, Buchanan, Dowagiac, Edwardsburg and Cassopolis.
