Dowagiac Police Chief Tom Atkinson reports his officers are investigating an injury accident that occurred at Pokagon and Andrews streets on Thursday, Nov. 22, at approximately 3:40 p.m.
A vehicle driven by a 58-year-old Dowagiac resident was traveling north on Andrews.
The vehicle failed to stop at the intersection of Andrews and Pokagon, ran over the curb and struck a utility trailer parked in a yard on Pokagon Street.
Both the driver and passenger, a 45-year-old Dowagiac resident, sustained minor injuries in the crash and were transported to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital by Dowagiac Life ambulance.
Both were treated and released from the hospital.
Neither occupant was wearing seat belts.
Alcohol and speed appear to have been a factor in the crash.
This crash remains under investigation by the Dowagiac Police Department, which did not identify either person involved.
