PORTAGE – The Niles varsity volleyball team was eliminated from the Class A District Volleyball Tournament Tuesday night by Kalamazoo Central.
The Lady Vikings fell in four games to the Maroon Giants.
Kalamazoo Central advanced to the next round with a 25-17, 21-25, 25-16 and 25-22 victory over Niles.
In the other match Tuesday night, Portage Northern, winners of the Big 16 Conference Tournament this past Saturday, defeated arch rival Portage Central 18-25, 25-21, 25-17 and 29-27.
Kalamazoo Central now advances to face Mattawan in the district semifinals on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
Portage Northern will take on Kalamazoo Loy Norrix in the first semifinal on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
The finals are scheduled for Friday at 7:30 p.m.
