Edwardsburg’s Koontz signs letter of intent

EDWARDSBURG – Senior Stephanie Koontz, who helped lead the Edwardsburg varsity volleyball team to a Lakeland Conference championship on Saturday, has verbally committed to continue her career at Jacksonville (Alabama) State University.
Koontz, who will be in action tonight as the Lady Eddies open up Class B district play at Berrien Springs High School, will officially sign a letter of intent in mid-November.
Koontz, a middle hitter for the Lady Eddies, was named first team All-Lakeland Conference in the winter of 2007. In addition, Koontz has also earned second team All-Lakeland Conference in basketball, as well as first team All-Lakeland Conference and has been a state qualifier in track the past two years.
Jacksonville State is located in Jacksonville, Ala. and is a Division I institution with an enrollment of over 9,000.
The Gamecocks play in the Ohio Valley Conference. They have been conference champions the past two years and have qualified for the NCAA tournament both seasons.
