Buchanan's Courtney Miller and Brandywine's Greg Beaver have been named the Leader Publications Athletes of the Week for the Niles Daily Star.
Miller had 20 kills, 25 digs and four blocks in the Lady Bucks' five-game victory over rival Brandywine in Lakeland Conference volleyball.
Miller also had 33 kills and 45 digs as the Lady Bucks reached the semifinals of the Bronson Invitational on Saturday.
Beaver, who plays both soccer and football for the Bobcats, had a 12-yard touchdown run and an 85-yard interception return for a touchdown Friday night in Brandywine's 60-0 victory over River Valley.
In soccer, Beaver scored a goal and had an assist as the Bobcats defeated New Buffalo in its home finale.
Each week one boy and one girl will be selected as the Athlete of the Week.
The athletes are selected from nominations from their coaches.
