Comets top Bobcats

NILES – Lakeland Conference co-leader, Coloma, defeated visiting Brandywine Wednesday night in three games.
The Lady Comets, who are tied atop the league standings with Edwardsburg, defeated the Lady Bobcats 25-10, 25-4 and 25-14.
"It was a disappointing loss, I thought my girls would play better," Brandywine coach Sara Eaton said.
Kendra Zache finished the match with five kills, while Jenna Harris and Lauren Leonard each had two kills for the Lady Bobcats.
Brandywine also got one kill apiece from Katie Smallwood, Julie Barnett and Ashley Light.
Smallwood also had two blocks on the night.

Lakeland Conference co-leader, Edwardsburg, defeated Cass County rival Cassopolis in three games.
The Lady Eddies posted a 25-8, 25-18 and 25-13 win over the Lady Rangers to remain tied with Coloma.
Elise Mackling had 11 kills, eight digs and two blocks for Edwardsburg, which also got 14 kills, eight digs and four aces from Evie Tafunai.
Stephanie Koontz finished with nine kills, seven digs and four blocks.
