Niles took a 2-1 lead early in the second half as Alex Welch headed a ball into the net off an assist by Colin Freas in the 49th minute.
The Knights tied up the match at 2-2 in the 64th minute, however Looney's goal on a through ball from Billy Siderits.
"We played a solid match tonight from start to finish," Niles coach Jerry Holtgren said. "It is a great feeling to get a win like this against a quality opponent. We have had problems finding the net the last few games and finally broke through with some great combinations and finishes.
"Colin Freas and Billy Siderits did great jobs setting up opportunities and Alex Welch and Kyle Looney aggressively found the net. Both of them hit the corners, Alex with a head and Kyle with his foot. Zak Herrmann had a well-played dead ball for our first goal that had a lot of pace on it. We were able to work the ball all game and our defense played well throughout. Ryan Wyland, Justin Zimmerman, and Grant Cramer along with keeper Zack Bloss anchored the defense. We played with a real fire and intensity which really helped us," he added.
