Bridgman co-op swim team tops Loy Norrix

NILES – The Bridgman co-op girls' swim team won its dual meet against Kalamazoo Loy Norrix on Thursday.
The Lady Bees won convincingly with a final score of 106-70 .
Many swimmers turned in top three times in the meet, including Bridgman's co-captain Megan Curry, of Buchanan. Curry won both the 100 Butterfly and 100 Breaststroke events, and she joined Lindsey McCarty (Buchanan), Holland Roorda (Bridgman) and Ariel Piotter (Bridgman) to win the 200 Medley Relay.
McCarty also won two events for the Bees – the 50 Free (27.02) and the 100 Free (59.98) and she was on the winning 200 Freestyle Relay team, as well Faith Simpson (Lakeshore), Kelsey Dykstra and Nina Miller (Bridgman).
Dykstra turned in the top time in the 500 Free, Simpson placed second in both the 200 IM and 100 Free, and Miller won the 200 IM and took a strong second in the 500.
Other girls contributing points to the win were divers Ariel Piotter and Holland Roorda (both from Bridgman), Emily Harlow (Niles) in the 200 Free and 100 Breast, Allie Harris (Lakeshore) in the 500 Free and 100 Back, Sam Sisk (Niles) in the 100 Free and 100 Breast, and Megan Hauck (Bridgman) in the 200 Free and 100 Back.
The Bees are now 2-2 in dual meets and they have two home meets this week as well.
Thursday evening is Senior Night, where the girls will celebrate the last home meet for Lauren Hoehn, Megan Curry, Kelsey Dykstra, and Ariel Piotter.
