NILES – Anytime you can win a Lakeland Conference game, you have to be pleased.
It was Buchanan who was able to hang on through a five game match for a 3-2 varsity volleyball win Wednesday evening at Brandywine High School.
The Lady Bucks got past the Bobcats 25-19, 27-25, 11-25, 22-25, 15-8.
"This was very tough as we just saw Buchanan at the Buck Classic on Saturday where we lost four games to them and took one," Brandywine coach Sara Eaton said following the loss.
In the eyes of Buchanan coach Lisa Holok it wasn't so much what the Bobcats were doing but what her team wasn't. It was difficult for her to find a positive out of the match.
"It's always nice to win a conference match but I told the team after it was over that it was ugly and just glad it was over," Holok said.
"We've had a great couple of weeks. We won our tournament and did pretty well against Coloma last week. We're just going to move forward, work in practice and look forward to moving on," Holok added.
