NILES – Mark Calhoun and Samantha Brawley have been named the Leader Publications Athletes of the Week for the Niles Daily Star.
Calhoun captured the overall boy's title at the Berrien County Meet on Saturday in St. Joseph.
Calhoun ran a time of 16:46.
Brawley helped the Niles varsity volleyball team knock off South Bend (Ind.) Riley last week.
Brawley finished with 21 digs, four aces and two blocks.
Each week one boy and one girl will be selected as the Athlete of the Week.
The athletes are selected from nominations from their coaches.
