Bobcats win thriller

BERRIEN SPRINGS – The Brandywine varsity volleyball team defeated host Berrien Springs in a five-game thriller Wednesday night in Lakeland Conference play.
The Lady Bobcats defeated the Lady Shamrocks 15-25, 26-28, 25-11, 25-21 and 15-8.
"It took a game for the girls to get their act together and then they went out and played well," first-year coach Sara Eaton said. "Brandywine made Berrien Springs earn every point."
Katie Smallwood led the offense with nine kills, while Jenna Harris and Kendra Zache finished with eight and seven kills respectively. Missy Cooper added four kills.
Tops in the blocking department for the Bobcats were Smallwood with nine and Cooper with six.
Ashley Light also played well at the net according to Eaton.
"Emily Low and Missy Cooper did a great job setting," Eaton said. "Alexa Perry did a great job defensively."
Freshmen Volleyball
The Brandywine freshmen volleyball team defeated Berrien Springs 13-25, 25-17 and 16-14.
Lauren Hopper had seven aces for the Lady Bobcats, while Kelsey Prestly had three kills.
