NILES – Host Centreville scored 36 unanswered points in defeating Brandywine 40-6 Thursday night.
The Bobcats could not keep up with the Bulldogs' spread offense as it fell to 1-1 on the season.
Centreville (1-1) struck first as John Crone scored on a 1-yard run.
Brandywine knotted the score at 6-6 as Joshoil Benjamin scored on a 4-yard run as the Bobcats marched 62 yards to paydirt.
It was all Centreville from that point.
The Bulldogs took the lead for good on a 70-yard kickoff return following Brandywine's score.
Centreville upped its advantage to 18-6 at halftime as Cam Jergens scored on a 1-yard run in the second quarter.
The Bulldogs scored twice in the third quarter and once in the fourth to turn the game into a lopsided affair.
Jergens scored on runs of 7- and 11-yards in the third quarter and had a 2-point convertion run as well.
Crone capped the scoring with a 2-yard run in the fourth quarter, while Jergens added the extra point.
The Bulldogs finished with 160 yards rushing and 90 yards passing. Brandywine had 176 yards on the ground and 16 yards through the air.
The Bobcats turned the ball over three times, including a pair of fumbles. Centreville had two turnovers,
Caleb Frazier had 110 yards on 21 carries for the Bobcats. Benjamin finished with 57 yards on nine totes. Joel Perry and Greg Beaver were a combined 2-of-6 passing.
Defensively for the Bobcats, Chris Ott finished with nine tackles, including a pair of loss. John Olivier and Kanny Eaglebarger had five and four tackles respectively.
Frazier had the interception for Brandywine, while Perry had the fumble recovery.
The Bobcats are back in action next Friday night as they continue their road tour in Coloma for a Lakeland Conference contest.
