Buchanan tennis team third at Whitehall Tournament

NILES – The Buchanan varsity tennis team learned a lot about themselves at the Whitehall Early Bird Tournament, according to head coach Steve Bender.
The Bucks finished in third place with a score of eight points, behind tournament champion Whitehall, who ended with 20 points. Parchment was second with 17 points.
"Great day for our new team. We learned a lot about ourselves," Bender said.
At No. 1 doubles, Harper Sulier and Grayson Oak grabbed first place with a 3-0 record on the day.
"One doubles played outstanding tennis akk day. They will be a tough team to beat this year," Bender said of the duo.
Tyler Siebert and Zack Devereaux finished third at No. 2 doubles, as did Evan Cauffman and John Haslock at No. 3 doubles and Zach Hughes and Kevin Watson at No. 4 doubles.
Holly Lucas finished third at No. 3 singles and Ryan Henckel was third at No. 4 singles.
"This team worked so hard all summer and with match expereince will improve drastically," Bender added.
Buchanan will host Dowagiac on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. match.
