Riverfest is only a few days away. It's hard to believe this is the 17th year for the annual event, which features a wide variety of family-fun activities.
Riverfest is one of the only area festivals that celebrate one of our most popular natural resources – the St. Joseph River. Because of this, many of the Riverfest activities and events are held alongside or in the water.
Mr. and Ms. Riverfest will be crowned at the annual pageant on Thursday, Aug. 2. The opening ceremony for Niles Riverfest will be held on Friday, at 6:30 p.m., at the Riverfront Park Amphitheater.
Some of the popular activities include the "Anything Floats" raft race, Dragon Boat races and the AAA 13th Annual All Car and Truck Show.
You can lend a hand and help out at this year's event as volunteers are still needed. You can also sign up for many of the fun events going on.
Niles Riverfest is completely supported by the generous donations of local individuals, businesses and organizations.
