VICKSBURG – Niles advanced to the state tournament in South Portage with a sweep of Ypsilanti on Saturday in Vicksburg.
The Niles All-Stars won the first game 5-1 and then completed the sweep with a 20-1 win.
The District 15 District and Sectional champions begin state playoff competition on Saturday, July 28. The all-stars will take part in opening ceremonies on Friday.
The winning pitchers for the All-Stars were Justin Hughes in the opener and David Sokowloski in the second game.
